The MGA With An Attitude

1954 Jaguar XK-120
1954 Jaguar XK-120 Drop Head Coupe

What we have here is a picture of a ghost, not at Niagara Falls when the rest of the pictures were taken. This car was an early fatality in the rally. It was purchased sight unseen from a car dealer in Georgia, and shipped to Halifax, Nova Scotia to be picked up by the participants when arriving from Great Britain. These are the new owners, Jan and Leny Velthuizenfrom from Belgium, looking it over as they first set eyes on it in Halifax when picking it up. Unfortunately the car had numerous problems and only made it as far as Moncton, New Brunswick, before a valve stuck open, and it was returned to Halifax to be repaired by the best Jaguar mechanic in town. It will then to be shipped to its new home in Belgium. The new owners are continuing on the rally in a rented car. The picture was taken by Bob Hamilton (of Waverley, Nova Scotia) in Halifax at the beginning of the trip.
