Here is a very period accessory which you may never see in your lifetime. The Lebron Snorkle was designed to replace the chrome grill on the MGA. I suppose it may have provided better air flow as claimed. It may have even been cheaper than a replacement grille, but would appear to be more suseptible to future damage. This might be just a matter of personal taste, but man is it ugly! Then again, form follows function, so if it helps win a race it could be beautiful.

This same company made other aftermarket accessories, such as one-piece Plexiglas side curtains. That could have been an improvement for weatherproofing in the mid 50's, but no ventilation (and I have no idea how to get the door open).
