Now we get on to final assembly and installation. Here I am inserting the new K&N filter element into the original (cut down) outer screen. At first it seems like it won't fit, as the outside diameter of the element is a little larger than the inside diameter of the screen. However, the size difference is very little, and with just a light squeeze you can easily compress the diameter of the filter element so it goes right in.
