Stud for securing , brake disc to front bearing hub, MGA 1600, 1600-MK-II For more reference information, see Replacing Wheel Studs WL-103

These part numbers are for front wheel bearing hubs on MGA 1600 and 1600-MK-II model cars with Lockhead front disc brakes (not for Twin Cam or "Deluxe" cars with Dunlop brakes). -- For securing brake disc rotors to the hubs, early production 1600 cars used BTB104 knurled neck studs, but later production used BTB145 hex head bolts. In the illustrations at right, items 22 and 27 are the same studs and bolts used in all 1600 car front hubs. This design change made for different part numbers for the hubs.

The knurled neck stud finished at (C)69504 for disc wheels, and (C)70275 for wire wheels.
The hex head bolt commenced at (C)69505 for disc wheels, and (C)70276 for wire wheels.
Note that the bearing hub assembly numbers changed at the same time.

This design change happened in June 1959 following introduction of the 1600 model in May 1959 at (C)68851. As such, only 655 DW cars and 1426 WW cars got the early knurled neck studs. The BTB104 knurled neck studs and the BTB106, BTB114, BTB115 early hubs may be hard to find as modern replacement parts.
