STAINLESS STEEL BUMPERS, Front And Rear - BP-103C

These new manufacture polished stainless steel bumpers for MGA are now available (2023) from Harrington. The kit has 1 front bumper in 3 pieces, 1 rear bumper, and 4 over-riders.
Stainless Steel bumpers for MGA
The price seems to be "in the ball park" competitive with new reproduction chrome plated parts, which in itself would not be particularly appealing. But since new chrome parts are often poor quality in finish hand plating (scratches and early rust problems), the stainless steel parts may have some appeal for durability (even though they will not look like chrome). I drive my MGA a lot, so the bumpers do get dinged occasionally. I am sometimes replacing a facebar or a couple of overriders, but not likely needing a complete front and rear set all at once. Being sold as an 8-piece set might be some concern if you ever need a replacement part later. And we won't know if these parts will still be available many years later.

I have no personal experience with these parts, and so far no feedback from users. I would appreciate a note from anyone who might buy these parts. First preference for a show car may be for good quality professional re-plating of original bumper parts, but of course that can be quite expensive these days.

Pictures of the blue car below show the polished stainless steel bumpers mounted on a customer's car. Something to mention for sure is that the center hole for the starting handle (hand crank) will only be provided if you request it at time of order.

The eBay ad listed price for a complete set of front and rear bumpers ordered together. Front bumper set and rear bumper set can be ordered separately, but for a more premium price. At time of this posting (Jan 2024) front bumper is 484-GBP including shipping and rear bumper is 410-GBP including shipping. A complete set front and rear is 745-GBP including shipping. Shipping within 20 working days after receipt of payment and confirmation.

This is a British company based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, but shipping from Korea. The back of the bumpers are acid etch primed and painted with ICI two pack paint. Also remember that stainless steel may likely tarnish and turn darker over time, so you may need to rub it down with chrome polish occasionally.
