The MGA With An Attitude

There is a small inland lake at Deadhorse, and significant attention is paid to keeping it in pristien condition. The roads are maintained as gravel surface only, and about ten months of the year the roads are watered down with a sodium-cloride solution to retain moisture and keep the dust down so the gravel dust doesn't spread over everything. Then they have a special road grader that is used periodically to scoop up several inches of the gravel surface from the shoulder of the road, wash the gravel to remove the salt and other residue from motor vehicles, and return the gravel to the road bed.
