While we were on the river that day, there arose a rumble of thunder in the Kenia Penninsula, a seldom witnessed event that took the guides by surprise. Shortly thereafter there was a huge lightning strike on the mountain side above us, and the guides were totally awe struck, having never before seen lightning in the Kenia Penninsula.
