Here we have a custom made engine rear plate to adapt an MGB 5-main bearing engine to an MGA 1600 type gearbox. This part was supplied by Giovanni Delicio in Obrigheim, Rheinpfalz, Germany DEU. The traditional alternative is to use the MGA 1600 rear plate, and bore out the center hole to accept the rubber seal for the MGB 5-main engine (and also plug the drain slot in the front side of the MGA plate).
