"I ordered a new one from Moss, tried to install it today and found the threads incompatible with the existing fittings. The nut would lock up in less than ½ turn. This was both on the engine side and the connector side. I called Moss, and they told me that the threads on the new hose were 3/8-24. I tried a new 3/8-24 nut on the existing fittings, and it acted the same way, no go. I tried to thread a 3/8-24 bolt into the new hose, but there was not enough thread available to engage. The old hose fittings thread easily onto the existing engine and connector fittings, i.e., there is no indication that the threads are screwed up".

This hose connects between the 435-530 FITTING, tube to flex line on the frame near starter switch, and the 460-015 UNION, oil gauge pipe on side of the engine block. The connecting male threads are 1/8-BSP (28 threads per inch). The design of these parts is of pre-war origin, as the same hose is used on MG T-types (and on the MGB).

The problem with this hose has been reported to Moss Motors USA 10/15/2021. Hoping to report more later. In the meantime, do not buy this hose from Moss untll we have clarification and/or resolution of the problem.

"After suffering an unexpected oil pressure signal hose failure I ... ordered a replacement from Moss (UK). When it arrived and didn’t fit I used your site to try and find the correct thread information and discovered that it was an issue raised last year and listed on your site as FT-110.
"I received the hose from Moss yesterday, and either they have some of the junk parts mixed up in their stock or they don’t sell many. I’ve emailed Moss but no response yet, it will be interesting to see what they say+. -- Kev
