ROUTING in ENGINE BAY, Fuel, Hydraulic, Electric - RT-118

The pictures below show the wiring wiring harness installed on the bulkhead behind the heater box. Find more about the harness installation in article ET-100A - Harness Installation.

Above, MGA 1500. - Below, MGA 1600.

Above, connections between main and side harnesses (near starter switch).
Below, connections to front corner lamps, just inside of grill opening.

Below is the MGA engine bay with the firewall fittings and heater shelf area plumbing all in the right places. This is for left hand drive MGA 1500, with the heater option. Thanks to Brian McCullough for the picture. Click small picture for larger picture, twice. Master cylinder clutch output port has a banjo fitting followed by a large bore pipe. Master cylinder brake output port accepts the small bore pipe flare nut directly. Both pipes have P-clips anchored to the forward bolts of the pedal excluder ring. On the lower bulkhead the brake pipe has three P-clips where the clutch pipe has two P-clips. The fuel pipe has two P-clips anchored to bolts on the heater shelf (to be farther away from engine heat).

Photos below following from right to left:
4043.jpg - Connections to 5-way block on top of frame. The outboard port is the line from master cylinder. Front port goes to RF wheel. Inboard port goes to LF wheel. Rear port is the pipe running under frame to back of car. Notice bend down welded tabs on top of frame securing the front brake pipes. The black wiring cable attched to RF pipe with a tie wrap is the (non-standard) cable for the hall effect sensor on the RF hub sending wheel rotation signals to my rally computer. The clutch pipe and hose are also visible in this picture.
4044.jpg - LF brake pipe running across back of front suspension cross member. Notice bend up tab in center.
4045.jpg - LF brake pipe running underneath left side of frame to hose anchor bracket. There is a bend up tab underneath the frame here. Pipe end fitting and mating hose end will be different for the 1600 model with disc brakes. The hose anchor bracket is also in a little different position for the 1600.

4049.jpg (on right here) - RF brake pipe running above right side of frame to hose anchor bracket. More tie wraps for my rally sensor cable. Pipe end fitting and mating hose end will be different for the 1600 model with disc brakes. The hose anchor bracket is also in a little different position for the 1600.

Note that the 5-way fitting is different for MGA Twin CAM and "Deluxe" cars. Here the tapered pipe thread for the pressure switch is on the side rather than on top. This will have a different part number for the 5-way fitting.
