When installing lift-the-dot fasteners, all of the mating studs should be installed first, then you install the LTD part in a location on the fabric to match the location of the stud. Align the fabric where you want it, stretch it as tight as you want it to be with the final installation, and mark the location of the tip of the stud on the fabric.
