Here's another idea from John Pipe for installing the LTD fastener.

After making the center hole, place the fastener into position, remembering to have the DOT in the right place, and insert a machine screw through the middle with washers and a wing nut. Check that tabs will align with the holes and tighten up the wing nut. Most times it works fine, sometimes a little added squeezing is necessary to get the pins through. Then bend over the tabs and your done.
